Delete your account
How to have your Practivia account and the data attached to it erased, what goes, and what we are required to keep.
1. How to request deletion
This is the deletion request page for Practivia, the interview-practice app published on Google Play. Deletion is handled by email so that we can confirm the request really came from you before anything is erased.
- Send an email to support.practivia@gmail.com from the address on your Practivia account. That address is how we identify the account, so a request sent from any other address cannot be actioned.
- We reply to that address to confirm it is really you. Reply to confirm, and the account is deleted.
You do not need the app installed, a working password, or an active plan to ask. If you cannot open your mailbox at that address any more, write from whatever address you have and say so, and we will work out another way to establish that the account is yours.
2. How long it takes
We reply within 7 business days. Once you have confirmed, the deletion is carried out within 30 days, and in practice almost always the same week. We email you when it is done.
Deletion is permanent. Your practice history, answers and progress cannot be restored afterwards, and creating a new account with the same email address starts you from nothing.
3. What gets deleted
Everything the account holds, removed together:
- Your login — the account itself, your email address and your stored password hash.
- Your profile: name, experience, technologies, company, designation, location, LinkedIn URL, mobile number if you gave one, target role, target date and timezone.
- Every resume and job-description file you uploaded, deleted from storage along with the summaries extracted from them.
- Your question sets and generated questions, your written answers, and every score, matched point and piece of coaching produced for them.
- Your multiple-choice attempts, bookmarks, private notes and seen-question records.
- Your progress: experience points, streaks, badges, revision schedule and readiness snapshots.
- Your notification preferences and the push token for your device, so notifications stop.
- Your credit ledger and the AI usage records tied to your account.
It cascades: nothing of yours is left behind under another table to be re-linked later.
4. What we keep, and for how long
- Billing records — 8 years. The plan, amount, currency, period and the payment identifiers from Razorpay. Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep these, so they survive deletion of the account. They are kept for that purpose alone and are not used to contact you or to rebuild a profile.
- Support emails. Correspondence with us sits in our support mailbox for as long as it takes to resolve the request and any follow-up. Ask us in the same email and we will delete that thread too once the request is closed.
Nothing else is retained. Aggregate comparison figures shown to other users are computed over large groups and never identify you.
5. Deleting only some of your data
If you want to remove something specific without closing the account, you can do it yourself in the app:
- Uploaded documents — delete any stored resume or job description at any time. You can also switch off “Keep my files” when generating a set, and the file is deleted as soon as the questions are written.
- Mobile number — add or remove it under Profile → Edit profile. It is optional and is only used to fill in the payment page.
- Notifications — switch any type off under Profile → Notifications, which stops us using your push token for it.
Anything else you would like removed on its own, write to support.practivia@gmail.com and ask.
6. Before you ask
- Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. The data lives on our servers, so removing the app leaves it exactly where it is. This request is the only thing that erases it.
- A paid plan is not refunded when you delete. Plans are prepaid one-month licences and do not renew, so there is nothing to cancel — but deleting mid-month gives up the rest of it. If you think a refund is owed, read the Refund & Cancellation policy and settle that first.
- Export first if you want a copy. Ask in the same email and we will send you a summary of the personal data we hold before we erase it.
7. Your rights
Erasure is one of the rights described in section 11 of our Privacy Policy, which we honour under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can also ask for a summary of your data, correct anything inaccurate, or nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.
If you are unhappy with how we handled a deletion request, raise it with our Grievance Officer at support.practivia@gmail.com. We acknowledge every grievance within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are still not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
